Problem Statement: The organization faced challenges with high attrition rates, unclear reasons for candidate rejection, and difficulty maintaining a diverse talent pipeline. Executives lacked consolidated, actionable insights to diagnose where in the funnel candidates were dropping out or which departments were underperforming on key hiring and retention KPIs.
Solution Statement: I developed a suite of People and Talent dashboards that provided end-to-end visibility into hiring and attrition patterns, with an emphasis on DEI metrics. To spotlight problem areas, I implemented a weighted scoring methodology visualized through heat maps, helping leaders quickly identify areas needing attention. For KPI’s, I introduced automated alerts (yellow triangle) when KPIs dropped below defined benchmarks, enabling timely intervention and proactive retention strategies. Executives valued having a centralized dashboard with clear indicators that highlighted where their attention was most needed.
Tools Used: I extracted and cleaned data from multiple sources including ATS and HRIS platforms using SQL, then built optimized data models to support performance in Tableau. I created calculated metrics, interactive visuals, and filters for drill-down analysis, and developed a style guide to ensure consistent reporting across teams. I also trained junior analysts on dashboard standards and design principles.
Impact Statement: The dashboards empowered leaders to detect and respond to attrition risks earlier, reduce unnecessary candidate rejections, and improve diversity pipeline visibility. With heat maps and real-time alerts, stakeholders could take fast, targeted action, leading to more efficient hiring, stronger DEI outcomes, and a measurable reduction in avoidable turnover.
